professional wrestler (he lost the middleweight championship to El Santo in 1943) who, like Fernando Osés, had a substantial and varied film career afterwards. In addition to acting appearances in numerous films between 1957 and 1966, Velázquez also wrote the original and/or scripts for more than 30 movies, mostly (but not all) wrestling dramas or Westerns, between 1957 and 1978.
